Ash Wednesday | Today the Lenten season begins. 40 days leading to Easter of prayer, contemplation, and trusting in Jesus in our need.

“Be with us Lord, keep us strong as we enter into the desert of Lent. Our sins come forth as shadows across the landscape of our lives. Today, we acknowledge our humanity and know that this marking of sign and symbol on our body is what calls us into further relationship with you, our God. We accept the mark. Made of earth-grown, harvested, blessed, burned, blessed, and placed on our bodies. Be with us as we spend the next 40 days calling to mind simplicity in our thoughts and actions. May all our actions, prayers, silence, and pauses call us into further relationship with you.” Amen. (prayer from Bread for the World)

Sunday we will study Jesus’ sermon on the plain. Who are we in the Kingdom? How is this our hope? Join us for worship at 10 am. 2437 S Centre City PKWY in Escondido.

Reservoir Disability | Disability Ministry needs your help! We are starting to prepare for an Easter event for our VIP families. If you are able to help out either way, please contact Janice at disability@reservoir.church.

Numbering nearly 17 million, the Zhuang people are not only the largest ethnic minority group in Guangxi, but in all of China. However, a majority of the Zhuang have never heard the good news of Jesus Christ. In their search for peace and prosperity, they build large altars to their ancestors, burn incense to the moon, trees, and all kinds of other gods, while seeking guidance from Taoist priests and witches. Though the Zhuang are proud of their identity, they have recently been called ‘poor, short, and ugly’ by netizens in response to a covid outbreak that happened in one of their cities. A Zhuang believer shared she realized the rest of the country really does look down on her people.

➔ Pray for that the Zhuang will hear the Gospel, turn away from false gods, and put their trust in Jesus Christ. May they know their Heavenly Father and know that true peace comes from Him.

Open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me. Acts 26:18 (NIV)
