When the big day comes, the Zhuang wake up early, slaughter and cook chicken, prepare food on trays with plastic chopsticks and cups. When all the family has met at one house, they walk to the graves. Some sweep the tomb to clean a year’s worth of weeds and rubbish. Others worship and ceremoniously place the chicken in front of the tomb, pour the wine into the small cups, and bow down to ask for blessing and protection. Then, they burn incense, paper clothes and fake money on the grave to provide for the deceased in their afterlife.  Finally, they set off loud firecrackers for about a minute to ward off any evil spirits. They proceed to the next tomb and repeat the entire ceremony.

➔Pray for the Zhuang to turn their worship to the living God – the only One who can truly protect, help, and bless them.

(A conversation between Abraham in heaven and a rich man in hell)
Abraham: Between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.

Deceased rich man: Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus [a believer in heaven] to my family, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.

Abraham: They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them. (Luke 16:26-29)
