Final Draft of Book of Church Order

After much input, interaction and long hours of elder council discussion, we have finalized the draft of our Book of Church Order which members will vote on Sunday, February 7 after service.

A couple of things that are different in this final draft compared to the previous version include deletion of some confusing language on infant baptism in section 3.02 on Membership Requirements. Baptism remains necessary for membership as the language provides; the elders also matched the congregational vote thresholds to be consistent on differing issues.

Concerning the question of age of membership, the elders have determined to maintain the existing language without an age. We recognize the importance of evaluating potential members with their parents (if dependents) and discipling all members of the Church in meeting the covenantal obligations of membership.
