Remember GX: Crossing Culture

Despite recent modern developments and abundant knowledge about the White Trouser Yao, crossing culture is far from easy. Simple things like commuting and making friends take far more energy and planning than when in one’s home culture. Cross-cultural workers’ relationships with God and family are often under stress. As God calls laborers to the harvest among the Baonuo, let’s uphold them in prayer.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:18-20, NIV

➔ Pray for protection of their family relationships by the authority of Jesus.

➔ Pray for cross-cultural workers to be sustained, upheld, and empowered by the Holy Spirit and their sending bodies.

This week is “The Yao Year Festival”, a major traditional Baonuo festival that gathers people during a long harvest season. Locals and outsiders are welcomed to experience Baonuo culture on this day. Activities include displaying traditional garments, spinning top contests, singing and bird fighting competitions and feasting together.

“I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.” 1 Cor 9:22-23

➔ Pray that believers would become like the Baonuo for the sake of the good news.
