Remember GX: Spirit's Power

We see the undeniable blend of Chinese ancestor worship and minority culture this month. Likened to past Western traditions surrounding “All Hallows’ Eve,” Chinese Ghost Festival is a reverent, spiritual time for the whole family. This month’s requests are written by GX believers themselves.

Ancestors are important to many GX people, regardless of ethnic background. Some believe their ancestors impact their lives and try actively to appease such spirits. They offer food, alcohol and incense to ancestors before any festival dinner and bow and pray to them, appealing for blessing and being wary of invoking supernatural wrath.

For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Psalm 96:5
