Remember GX: AO PEople

The Ao people (pronounced “OW”) are one of five major branches of the Yao minority in eastern GX, all who live on their namesake region of Big Yao Mountain.

Alongside participating in festivals for the Yao King Pan and maintaining ancestral altars, Ao families traditionally practice Daoism by mounting portraits of Dao deities in their homes and using Dao masks in ceremonies. Reportedly, 30 Yao people followed JC in 1996, including several Ao.

“Who shall ascend the hill of the L? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.” Psalm 24:3-4

May Ao and other Yao believers ascend the hill of the L and turn away from false idols.
