In so many of the spaces of our lives it feels like we have to constantly be performing. Putting on a good face. Keeping up appearances. Maintaining the reputation. After all, what will people think if they get to know the real me?
Maybe this thinking, and this reality of life is why more and more we choose spaces that are alone, just us and a few others at home, or just us and our phone. Still, something deep in us says we were meant for more. We were meant for belonging and meant for being ourselves with other “real” people.
At Reservoir we have found that the freedom to live this way is found only in Jesus. He knows our frame, exactly who we truly are, and he still comes after us and invites us into full flourishing life. In community with friends willing to be honest about the waves of life and our need for a Savior, we are finding all of this matters and all of it is headed somewhere glorious.
“If God has come in the flesh, and if God keeps coming to us in our fleshly existence, then all of life is shot through with meaning. Earth is crammed with heaven, and heaven (when we finally get there) will be crammed with earth. Nothing wasted. Nothing lost. Nothing secular. Nothing absurd.... All are grist for the mill of a down-to-earth spirituality.” ― David G. Benner
We are a small church where you don’t have to perform. It is safe to be yourself. To bring all of who you are to Jesus and discover that he loves you. Are you looking for a place like this? Come join us.
Jesus really is the hero of this story! “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,” John 1:12
Sundays, 10 am, at the Escondido Columbus Club, 515 W Valley Parkway.
