Shielded and Sent Sailing

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” -Psalm 28:7

This is what God desires for you—to find your strength, your protection in him. To set aside the things you have been relying on to get through your days and nights and rest in him. Trust in him with your whole heart. This is what he desires, to be in relationship with you.

This is also where he helps you. Confident in his sovereign care, safe in his arms, recognize the provision he gives as a gift. Begin to increasingly realize the depths of his love and grace for you, as your heart is sent sailing in revelry over his goodness. Every breath becomes a song of thanksgiving for his kindness and holiness. You are unswayed by the troubles of the world or the timetables of life. You truly have strength and a shield.

Why not lean into this today? Position yourself to trust in Jesus and his finished work for you. Hear the voice of God singing over you with gladness. Know your identity as a child of God, prized and protected. How would this change your day? May it be so!

Lord, work these truths into our hearts, and we long for them to be our words and our reality.
