On familiar paths between the villages and mountains, Rongrong makes weekly rounds to several small groups across his home county. Every day, he arrives in a different villager’s home and spends time with the youth and the elderly. People of multiple mountain minorities using multiple languages converge on these meeting points. Rongrong faithfully leads them in study, but noticed that less people have joined these meetings recently. Rongrong struggles knowing how to engage them.

This is Brother Zhang’s vision for GX. He and his wife, native to a province northeast of GX, visited GX about 10 years ago. They were struck by the small numbers of God’s people in GX, but also saw its potential to be a gateway to SE Asia. God called them as cross-cultural workers into GX about 5 years ago, and they started an outward-focused group in a large city while researching and supporting work where it’s most needed in GX. “We’re still a new group,” Zhang says, “Pray for God to strengthen us.”

Sister Wang has a burden broad and deep for GX peoples. She still waits on Him to open certain doors, but faithfully does what she and her co-laborers can do. Budding leaders in house groups are given opportunities to serve and supported through study resources. Sister Wang’s openness to partnership and training leaders expands the reach of Christ’s glory in GX.
