Chinese Ghost Festival is also known as Zhongyuan Festival. In GX the Ghost Festival is on the 14th day of the 7th lunar month, or August 12 of this year 2022. People believe that ghosts and spirits are free to come out from the lower realm and visit the earth, so usually shops are closed early and kids are not allowed to go out at night. The families prepare food offerings and burn incense, candles and paper money to please the ghosts. It's quite common to see this on the street.
