The Liujia have strict rules for marriage. Those who have the same last name and same ancestry are not allowed to get married. They can't sing to each other to express their love. In the past, getting married was a very complicated thing for the Liujia. The couple's birthday and horoscope should match. Otherwise, they think their marriage won't last long.

In addition to marriage celebrations, the Liujia people have unique festivals for their family clans (people with the same last name), such as Cao Festival, Hou Festival, etc. The celebration day for each family group could be different. During their name festival, they would invite their relatives and friends to come for a feast. Those who have many guests are considered honorable.
