Most of the Liujia practice ancestor worship, animism, and Daoism. Every home has an ancestral altar. There is a local temple called the Ersheng Temple in their region. Every March 3rd of the lunar year, the Liujia do performances, worship idols and set off firecrackers in the temple.

Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any gods of cast metal: I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 19:4 

For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. Deuteronomy 10:17
