Life for the Baiku Yao
The Baiku Yao is one of the few ethnic groups that have jumped directly from a Stone Age-like existence into modern-day living. For a long time they lived in rocky deserts and barren lands, so the economic development and social expansion of the Baiku Yao has been extremely slow. Poverty is prominent.
Most villagers plant produce and raise animals, and they bring their agricultural products out on market days in exchange for other necessities of life. Because of the harsh environment, the Baiku Yao has long lived a life of poverty.
